Music Therapy in Colorado Needs Your Help!
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has proposed a series of actions in response to the Governor's recently released budget (October 31, 2025) and subsequent executive orders. One of these actions includes a
39% rate cut to Music Therapy Reimbursement.
This change is proposed to be implemented in Spring of 2026. As you can imagine, this drastic reduction would make it very difficult for many music therapy providers to continue serving Medicaid clients, leaving many individuals without access to the care they depend on, while impacting non-Medicaid clients with longer waitlists, decreased options for service delivery, fewer music therapy providers across the state.
We need your help now to provide the state with public comment and feedback on how devastating this cut would be to music therapy services across Colorado.
We need to hear from ALL of you!
