We understand the difficulty when individuals with disabilities lose access to their school, day program, or other community services.

Integrated Therapy of Northern Colorado would like to help with Mobile Music Connections. We are working with families to provide short-term, individualized music therapy online while schools and programs are closed due to COVID-19.  Positive interaction with the community using fun and beneficial therapeutic supports can go a long way in supporting children and adults with disabilities who are facing uncertainty in their routines and access to services.

  • mood

  • social skills

  • cognitive skills

    and more…

Do I have to be a tech expert or have special equipment to participate in online music therapy sessions? NO! Online music therapy can be accessed over an internet connection with a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. An ITNC board certified music therapist will send a link for the video call to your email. Click! and you’re connected. No special equipment needed.

What will online music therapy sessions cost me? Music therapy with ITNC is funded through the CES and SLS waivers (soon to include CHRP and CLLI as well). So, music therapy could be provided at no cost to you. If one of these waivers is not available to you, we also provide private payment with a sliding scale.

Does music therapy require previous music experience, talent, or preference? NO! Music and rhythm impact our brains regardless of training or previous experience. Music therapists do take instrument and musical preferences into account when planning sessions, but no proficiency or experience is required.

What if I/my child don’t use verbal communication? What if I/my child has a hard time sitting still or paying attention to the screen? Does it still work? It can. ITNC works with many individuals with a variety of communication methods and sensory or cognitive needs. We do ask that clients have an “assistant” available with the participant to provide support for communication and be the “hands” as directed by the therapist. This can be a parent, nurse, older sibling, or aide. Interventions are customized to each clients needs and abilities.
